Barbecue and picnic facilities in Royal and George River National Parks are closed from Sunday 27 June to Friday 9 July 2021, due to COVID-19 restrictions.
As a result of the developing COVID-19 situation in NSW, please consult the latest NSW Government news and updates about COVID-19 for advice on required safety measures before visiting a park.
A number of NPWS campgrounds and picnic areas have been closed due to the COVID-19 restrictions. Please check alerts for closures or call 1300 072 757 (13000 PARKS). Penalties apply for non-compliance.

Closed parks: Royal National Park closed for Easter
Royal National Park is closed for Easter from Friday 10 April to Monday 13 April 2020. This closure is to protect the health and safety of visitors and staff.
The closure includes all tracks, trails, roads, beaches, car parks, picnic and bushland areas.

Closed areas: Royal National Park Visitor Centre and other areas closed
The following parts of Royal National Park are closed until further notice to protect the health and safety of visitors and staff:
- Wattamolla Beach precinct, including the carpark, lagoon and picnic area
- Garie Beach precinct, with no lifeguard patrols present
- Garawarra Farm carpark (Figure 8 Pools access)
- Bonnie Vale picnic area and campground
- All campgrounds
- Royal National Park Visitor Centre
Other areas of the park currently remain open, including:
- Audley Dance Hall cafe is offering a takeaway service and card payments are preferred
- Walking tracks remain open however, please remember that social distancing and gathering size limits apply in Royal National Park.

These areas are closed due to a Total Fire Ban.
